So this is Hot Cross, trying to ask poor little Umai in her not so subtle way to be a special somepony. However, she doesn't seem to understand someone beat her to it and he is dating a really handsome gentle giant.

Yes, her name is a reference to Hot Cross Buns. I am probably keeping these colors, but might play around with it just a bit more. She really likes her sun hats, and badly worded puns.
