Tanzanite

So this has honestly been a long time coming, with my first attempt back in May of this year. Tanzanite went through several redesigns and recolors. I couldn’t bring myself to pick my first two favorite stones; Amethyst and Lapis Lazuli since they were already used in the show. Thus my third favorite gem got its own spotlight, and I am glad. This took way more time and thought into the character then necessary, but I am really proud of them. 

Tanzanite is a severing class, similar to Pearl’s and Peridot’s. However they are more social service class, as their main purpose was personal envoys, voices and messengers of elite gems. They often were used as mediators during disagreements between gems, due to their prowess with communication. 

Tanzanites are not known for their skills in combat, but are often known for their  wind affinity. Which is why many suspect their skill with language is so astute. This Tanzanite ended up summoning a very unassuming weapon, which aides in their control of wind. Though they still have little to no desire for combat, and prefer to talk it out or misdirect the combatant. If pressed to close combat, they use Aikido to use their opponents power against them.

This Tanzanite somehow got their gem severely burned, to the point of them loosing their sight. (This idea is from the fact that Tanzanites often go through controlled heat treatment to make the gems more purple) The event was so traumatic they still have no recollection of it, and thus do not know if it was intentional or not. After a very long recovery they awoke on Earth, with no allegiance to anyone. They currently keep to themselves, spending most of their time meditating and focusing on their mental recovery.
